Lyft

Financial Analyst

at Lyft

Mexico City, Mexico

At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive.

As a Financial Analyst, you will be vital in evaluating financial health and developing strategies to achieve financial and accounting goals. Key responsibilities include ensuring data integrity, system fluency, and transforming raw data into high-impact insights for executive decision-making. You will also manage and enhance complex financial models to support our scaling business.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Integrity & Architecture: Collect, process, and organize the organization's financial data. You will act as the bridge between raw data systems and final reports to ensure a seamless and audited data flow.
  • Strategic Modeling: Build and maintain scalable models to inform investment prioritization across planning cycles. You will troubleshoot "broken" formulas and perform ad-hoc modeling to adapt existing frameworks to changing business needs.
  • Partnership & Analysis: Serve as a financial partner for LUS (Lyft Urban Solutions) product, engineering, and business operations teams, providing financial perspective on near and long-term growth.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare and conduct periodic financial analyses and monthly variance reports (Actuals vs. Budget), ensuring all outputs are audited for absolute accuracy.
  • Executive Presentation: Construct professional PowerPoint decks that summarize financial performance and key areas of intervention for leadership and stakeholder reviews.
  • Process Innovation: Maintain a deep understanding of our finance processes and actively contribute to improving them. You will develop robust, scalable processes from the ground up to inform forecasts and track performance.
  • Budgeting & Operations: Actively participate in budget processes and support the operations of the organization by providing forecasts and expert reports on product growth.
  • Quality Control: Review financial transactions and maintain clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for all reporting and modeling logic to ensure team-wide consistency.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered a strong asset (+).
  • Previous experience in a high-growth manufacturing company (SME) that exports abroad is highly preferred (+).
  • Advanced Gsheet/Excel: You must be an expert in spreadsheet architecture and comfortable auditing or "fixing" complex files you didn't originally build.
  • Proficiency with Oracle NetSuite, Anaplan, Mode, Tableau, or similar ERP/BI tools. You should be able to act as the bridge between these systems and final reports.
  • Exceptional ability to translate dense numerical data into clean, professional, and "executive-ready" PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across Product, Engineering, and Accounting teams.
  • Organizational Mastery: An excellent sense of organization and priority management; you can balance high-volume recurring tasks with urgent ad-hoc requests.
  • A deep commitment to respecting deadlines and a "pride of authorship" to ensure every deliverable is presented with the highest quality.
  • Mindset:
  • You demonstrate a standout analytical capacity and a critical mind oriented toward continuous improvement—you don't just report data; you look for ways to make the process better.
  • You are a team player who believes success requires everyone’s contribution and can navigate "gray areas" and rapid changes with ease.
  • Professional fluency in English is required for global collaboration and interaction with stakeholders across different regions.
