Federal OmniStudio Developer
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Hybrid (US-based, strong preference for DC Metro Area). In-person expectations include visits with customers, Salesforce offices, and to Thunder offices in Tysons Corner, VA.
Role Summary
The Salesforce OmniStudio Developer designs, develops, and deploys scalable, secure, and user-friendly digital experiences leveraging the OmniStudio platform (including FlexCards, DataRaptors, and Integration Procedures) within Federal government environments. This role focuses on implementing compliant, guided user journeys and dynamic front-end applications that align with mission requirements. As a Federal OmniStudio Developer, you will be instrumental in delivering guided, efficient, and compliant Federal services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and configure dynamic, guided user experiences and complex business processes using the full OmniStudio suite (formerly Vlocity), including broader Salesforce ecosystem products, such as Salesforce Government Cloud.
- Design and implement secure data manipulation layers using DataRaptors (Extract, Load, Turbo) and Integration Procedures to manage data flow between Salesforce and mandated external Federal systems.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum or SAFe environment to translate complex business requirements and process maps into robust technical designs using the OmniStudio suite (OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures).
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and backend developers to ensure seamless and secure integration with Federal systems and APIs using protocols like REST/SOAP, OAuth, SAML, and PKI.
- Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of OmniStudio components and ensure optimal performance.
- Implement and maintain automated testing strategies for OmniStudio components (including OmniStudio Test Utilities) and other platform elements like Apex unit tests and Jest for LWCs.
- Implement data mappings and transformations that adhere to common Federal data and integration standards, such as NIEM, HL7, XML/JSON schemas, and X12.
- Contribute to code quality, documentation, and secure DevSecOps practices within the Federal delivery model, focusing on secure deployment pipelines and adhering to Federal security mandates.
- Ensure developed OmniStudio solutions adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility standards, optimizing OmniScripts and FlexCards for performance and scalability in high-volume Federal use cases.
Qualifications
- 4-5+ years of professional Salesforce development/configuration experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to developing solutions using OmniStudio (formerly Vlocity Digital Interaction Suite).
- 2+ years of experience working on Federal or Public Sector integration programs and projects.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Government Cloud and Experience Cloud solutions.
- Deep practical knowledge of OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors, and Integration Procedures.
- Familiarity with developer tools, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines in a regulated environment.
- Experience or strong understanding of the compliance requirements and delivery environments of Federal or Public Sector clients, working with Agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.
- Certifications:
- Salesforce Certified OmniStudio Developer (required)
- Salesforce Platform Developer I (required)
- Salesforce OmniStudio Consultant (preferred).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (required).
- Willingness to attain a U.S. Security Clearance (e.g., Public Trust, Secret) as required by specific projects. Current clearance is not required to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required; advanced degree preferred.
