at Mission Lane

Richmond, United States

Mission Lane is combining the power of data, technology, and exceptional service to pave a clear way forward for millions of people on the path to financial success. By attracting top talent and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we’re enabling people to unlock real financial progress. Sound like a mission you can get behind?

We are a remote-first company seeking an in-office Facilities & Events Manager with proven experience in facilities management and event coordination. This person will be the consistent, on-site owner of our Richmond office and will manage approximately 30 annual corporate gatherings, from small team meetings to larger all-company events.

The Impact You’ll Make:

You’ll own and elevate the workplace and events experience, ensuring our physical environment and corporate events foster collaboration, innovation, and a strong sense of belonging. As the consistent anchor for our physical location, you’ll make it a vibrant and productive center for individuals, small team gatherings, and large company events.

What You’ll Do:

As the heart of our Richmond hub, you’ll be the primary on-site contact and welcoming face for our remote team members. On days without events, the office averages about 6 team members using the space. During our largest events, there may be closer to 300 people. Other times, teams may use the space for meetings of 10-100 people.  You’ll own the end-to-end experience that ensures our space is ready and works well, no matter the headcount.

As Facilities & Events Manager, You Will:

  • Own all aspects of facilities and in-office experience for the Richmond office, acting as the key on-site host. This includes all vendor management (janitorial, security, maintenance) and ensuring health and safety compliance.
  • Function as a hands-on 'team of one' for daily office upkeep, personally handling all tasks required to keep the space professional and welcoming, including stocking supplies, tidying common areas, and managing mail.
  • Design and manage the end-to-end execution of the company's event calendar, from initial concept to post-event analysis, to measurably enhance employee engagement and reinforce our unique culture.
  • Coordinate all logistics for in-person gatherings, including:
    • In-Office: Frequent small-group meetings (20-50 people) for team on-sites and biannual larger-scale gatherings (approximately 300).
    • Off-Site: Less frequent key meetings at various locations across the U.S., such as leadership meetings, board meetings, and off-site training.
  • Manage the budgets for all facilities and company events, ensuring fiscally responsible and impactful use of resources through effective vendor negotiation and tracking.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with building management, IT, and other internal departments to ensure seamless office operations and event execution.

Work Location:

  • On-site in our Richmond, VA office.
  • Occasional travel may be required for offsite events.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of combined experience in facilities management and corporate event planning.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience in a facilities management role, including managing vendor contracts, overseeing office projects or reconfigurations, and implementing health & safety protocols.
  • Proven track record of independently managing complex projects and large-scale events from conception through completion.
  • Experience managing significant budgets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing facilities and events in a fast-paced, high-growth company.
  • A professional certification in facilities management (e.g., FMP, CFM) or event planning (e.g., CMP).
  • Experience developing a company-wide annual events calendar tied to engagement goals, with measurable outcomes.

Key Competencies:

  • Ownership & Accountability: You take full responsibility for your domain, with a high standard of excellence.
  • Hands-On & All-In: You operate with a ‘no task is too small’ mindset and are happy to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • Self-Reliant & Service-Oriented: You are comfortable working independently, and thrive on creating a welcoming hub for the teams and individuals who use the office.
  • Vendor Management & Negotiation: You are skilled at negotiating contracts and managing relationships to ensure high-quality service and value.
  • Influential Collaborator: You build trust across all levels of the organization to bring your vision to life.
  • Calm Under Pressure: You navigate unexpected challenges with a steady, solutions-oriented approach.

Compensation:

Annual full-time base salary range: $112,000-$145,000

About Mission Lane:

Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

It all started with a realization:  nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. doesn’t have access to a clear line of credit. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group because they have less-than-perfect credit scores or no scores at all. We decided this just wouldn’t do.

In partnership with our sponsor banks, we offer credit cards under the Mission Lane brand name, with better, clearer terms, and a more refined customer experience than the alternatives available to people working hard to improve their credit. To date, over four million consumers have chosen Mission Lane, earning high customer ratings on Credit Karma for its market segment and industry leading Net Promoter scores.

Mission Lane has cumulatively raised over $600 million of equity from leading investors, including Invus Opportunities, QED Investors, LL Funds, funds affiliated with Oaktree Capital Management, and other leading investors.

Our commitment to a workplace built on respect and dignity is guided by our core value of Unity. We believe that everyone plays a vital role in our shared purpose, and we actively cultivate an environment where all individuals have the opportunity to do their best work. By fostering a culture of empathy and collaboration, we create a strong sense of belonging and support for every team member.

Providing any information to Mission Lane that is not completely truthful at any point during the application or hiring process may result in removal from the hiring process, disqualification from future opportunities, withdrawal of an offer or other sanctions for candidates and, in addition for employees, disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
