As Executive Client Partner, you will support the National Managing Director for NZ and champion client leadership, business development, and studio culture. As the senior trusted advisor, you’ll build and grow executive relationships (CMO, CIO, CEO), identify new opportunities to add value, and act as a brand custodian and entrepreneurial leader who drives results for clients and AKQA.
At AKQA, you’ll work in an innovative and inclusive culture surrounded by some of the brightest minds in their fields. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders across the business, collaborate with global teams, and help shape the Wellington studio’s energy, engagement, and growth.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Provide strong local client leadership and foster collaboration across AKQA regionally and globally.
- Identify and unlock opportunities to solve clients’ biggest problems and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Lead senior client partnerships and operate confidently at C-suite level (CMO, CIO, CEO).
- Own new business from end to end: pipeline, proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Partner with the Delivery & Operations Director to set up opportunities for clear planning and execution.
- Contribute to—and at times lead—Wellington agency meetings, updates, and communications.
- Build a proactive, passionate, high-energy culture focused on clients’ success.
- Partner with Marketing and leadership to grow awareness and interest in the AKQA NZ offer.
- Strengthen engagement and culture across the Wellington studio, supporting retention and performance.
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Extensive experience leading cross-disciplinary teams to deliver client outcomes in a creative environment.
- Deep knowledge of digital marketing services, platforms, and modern customer experience ecosystems.
- Proven track record growing existing accounts and converting new business in professional services.
- Exceptional commercial acumen, including revenue management and sustainable account growth.
- Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills—able to influence with credibility.
