What you’ll do
As an Engineering Manager at Privy, you will lead, grow, and shape high-performing engineering teams that make a massive impact on our product and industry. Responsibilities
- Own long-term team outcomes and success of Privy’s product and business
- Hold the team accountable to excellence in quality, throughput, and performance
- Coach engineers over time towards growth and their career goals
- Build a supportive, fun, motivating, celebratory team culture so that the team wins every week
- Define roles that lean into the unique “spikes” of each individual
- Ensure the team is working on the right scope of work and projects, and build interfaces with other parts of the org
- Review PRs and design docs to stay close to the metal and fill gaps as a player-coach
- Partner with the team’s Tech Lead to drive successful engineering and product outcomes

Minimum requirements
- Performance-oriented mindset, with a high bar for quality and excellence
- Deep ownership and a high-level perspective on driving business impact
- Technical excellence to be able to independently evaluate quality and technical feedback
- High emotional maturity, insightfulness, and care
- Strong past experience as a manager – excellent management takes reps
Preferred qualifications
- Published about your work (code, presentations, papers, blog posts, etc.)
- Preference for experience in an API-based business and in payments, fintech, or crypto.
