We're not just technology providers - we operate these systems, building the software, hardware, and operations that make urban micromobility work at scale.
Ready to shape how millions of people move through their cities every day?
We're seeking an engineering manager to lead the Rider team within Lyft Urban Solutions. Your team will deliver exceptional digital experiences through our bike-share and scooter-share mobile apps and web platforms, building innovative membership programs and rider features that serve millions of micromobility users worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence how people experience Citi Bike, BIXI, Divvy, and our other systems around the world. We're looking to move quickly on this hire as the team has ambitious goals for 2026.
Our engineers are smart, adaptable problem-solvers who move fast and ship code to production continuously. They look to their managers for organizational transparency, career development, mentorship, and honest feedback, while relying on leadership to boost productivity by removing obstacles and keeping processes lean.

- Stay technically engaged: review and approve technical specifications, challenge engineering estimates when needed, and contribute to solving complex engineering problems
- Create plans for resolving technical and resourcing challenges within your organization
- Balance building sustainable, high-impact projects with maintaining healthy team velocity and workload
- Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, processes and operations
- Own your team's deliverables, ensuring we ship and operate scalable, high quality products that delight our customers
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with recruiting to hire high-potential candidates from diverse backgrounds
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to maintain prioritized backlogs
- Help your team build strong relationships across functions and partner organizations

- Experience architecting, building, and scaling distributed systems
- Experience launching consumer-facing products and iterating through data-driven experimentation
- Communication Skills
- Communicate effectively across technical and business contexts, adapting your style to different audiences and individual team members' working preferences
Benefits:
- Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options with additional programs available when enrolled
- Mental health benefits
- Family building benefits
- Child care and pet benefits
- 401(k) plan with company match to help save for your future
- In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have discretionary paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
