As part of the International engineering team, you will play a key role in executing Robinhood’s global strategy by building reliable systems and driving high-quality technical execution in a fast-moving environment.
This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 4 days per week.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a high-performing team: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, setting a high bar for execution, ownership, and technical quality.
- Own team execution: Drive delivery of complex projects end-to-end, ensuring clear prioritization, predictable execution, and high-quality outcomes.
- Partner cross-functionally: Work closely with product, design, data, and partner engineering teams to translate business goals into actionable plans.
- Contribute to technical direction: Guide system design and architecture decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Raise the engineering bar: Establish strong engineering practices across code quality, testing, observability, and operational excellence.
- Hire and develop talent: Actively recruit and retain top engineers, and support their growth through coaching and performance management.
- Operate with ownership: Identify gaps, resolve ambiguity, and drive initiatives forward with a strong sense of accountability.
What You Bring
- Experience: 6–9 years of software engineering experience, including 1+ years of experience managing engineers, with a track record of supporting performance and career development
- Technical strength: Solid foundation in distributed systems and backend architecture; able to engage in technical discussions and guide design decisions.
- Execution track record: Proven ability to deliver complex projects from inception to production with strong ownership and accountability.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working closely with product and design to ship customer-facing features.
- Communication: Clear and structured communicator who can align stakeholders and drive decisions effectively.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
