About the Role:

AlphaSense is seeking a highly strategic and business-minded Director of Product Analytics to lead our global Product Analytics function and embed a data-driven culture within our Product organization. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving deep, actionable insights that directly influence product strategy and business outcomes.

This is a critical “player/coach” leadership role that requires both deep strategic vision and hands-on technical fluency. You will own our product analytics strategy, deeply understand our product goals and key metrics, and lead a talented, multi-functional team. You and your team will serve as a critical partner to our Product Managers and senior leadership, diving deep into product usage data, identifying key trends, and uncovering the "why" behind the numbers.

Who You Are:

  • Location & Alignment: Must be based in the US. NYC is preferred (remote okay). Ability to effectively collaborate and interact in real-time with Product teams primarily based in North America, while also being able to effectively manage a team in India.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in Product Analytics or a related data-focused field, with significant experience in a leadership or Director-level capacity, preferably within a B2B SaaS environment.
  • People Management: Proven experience in managing and mentoring a team of analysts, ideally with experience managing global or remote teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in SQL. Advanced experience creating impactful dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau or equivalent BI platforms.
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of presenting complex data insights clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to build strong working relationships and influence decision-making across cross-functional teams, particularly with Product Management.
  • Product Expertise: Demonstrated ability to understand product strategy and key metrics.

What You’ll Do:

Strategy & Insight Generation

  • Own Product Analytics Strategy: Define and execute the roadmap for our Product Analytics function, ensuring tight alignment with overall company goals. You are responsible for the integrity and strategic framing of all data presented in key executive forums (e.g., QBRs, Board materials, etc.).
  • Strategic Partnership: Act as a thought partner to Product leadership, proactively identifying opportunities and risks through data analysis. Collaborate closely with Product Managers to define key performance indicators (KPIs), establish success metrics for new features, and provide ongoing, proactive insights into product performance.
  • Insight-to-Action: Lead the effort to translate complex data analysis into clear, concise, and compelling narratives that drive key business decisions and product feature development decisions. You are accountable for the quality of analytical output from the entire team.
  • Metric Ownership: Deeply understand, define, and track key product and business metrics (KPIs). Develop and maintain standardized dashboards and reporting frameworks (using Tableau) to monitor performance and health

Technical & Data Expertise

  • Deep-Dive Analysis: Conduct and oversee comprehensive, complex analyses of product usage and adoption. Go beyond surface-level metrics to identify root causes for trends.
  • Analytical Prowess: Utilize your technical skills to conduct complex analyses and validate data integrity. Demonstrated ability to perform complex quantitative and qualitative analysis, identify patterns, and draw actionable conclusions from large datasets.
  • Deep Data Fluency: Utilize technical skills to conduct complex ad-hoc analyses, and validate data integrity.
  • Data Infrastructure Collaboration: Partner closely with Data Engineering to ensure our product data infrastructure is robust, reliable, and scalable for high-velocity analysis.
