You will partner closely with global Content Operations, Localization, Legal, and Marketing to ensure content is launch-ready, compliant, and aligned with audience expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the ratings and compliance strategy for Korea, ensuring alignment with global standards and regional regulatory requirements
  • Establish scalable frameworks, policies, and governance models for ratings and metadata operations
  • Drive continuous improvement of workflows, tools, and systems to support high-volume global content delivery
  • Own regional KPIs, SLAs, and quality metrics related to ratings accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of ratings and metadata professionals
  • Set clear goals, provide ongoing coaching, and support career development for team members
  • Establish quality control mechanisms and performance standards across the team
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing and workforce planning to meet business demand and growth
  • Oversee end-to-end ratings workflows for simulcast and catalog content
  • Ensure consistent application of KMRB ratings and internal standards across all titles
  • Implement robust QA processes to maintain metadata integrity and ratings accuracy at scale
  • Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure seamless handoffs across Content Ops, Localization, and Distribution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and representative for Crunchyroll with the KMRB and other relevant regulatory bodies
  • Ensure full compliance with Korean content regulations, youth protection laws, and evolving policy requirements
  • Monitor regulatory changes and proactively adapt internal processes and policies
  • Partner with Legal to assess risk and ensure appropriate escalation frameworks are in place
  • Act as a key regional leader interfacing with global stakeholders across Content Operations, Marketing, Product, and Legal
  • Influence upstream and downstream workflows to ensure ratings and compliance are embedded early in the content lifecycle
  • Provide expert guidance on sensitive or high-risk content decisions to senior leadership
  • Own and evolve ratings and metadata systems (e.g., Airtable, internal tools) to support operational scalability
  • Leverage data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process optimization
  • Deliver regular reporting and insights to leadership on performance, risks, and operational health

About You

  • 12+ years of experience in broadcast/streaming content rating
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams or managing complex operational functions at scale
  • Experience with KMRB self-rating policies and procedures, including completion of KMRB training
  • Experience with youth protection policies and programs
  • Experience with global ratings systems is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, translating business goals into scalable execution
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of projects with competing deadlines
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and represent the organization externally
  • Fluency in English and Korean
  • Must be comfortable discussing sensitive and potentially offensive subject matter with senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across departments to drive company initiatives
  • Proficient with databases (Airtable preferred) and working with large datasets
  • Experience driving operational improvements through systems, tooling, or automation is strongly preferred

This role requires screening content that may be sensitive or offensive to certain audiences.
