Reddit is seeking a Director of Consumer Data Science team to lead the company’s consumer data science and analytics functions. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for scaling a modern data science organization that establishes strong data foundations, and leverages advanced quantitative modeling to drive high-impact decisions across the company. The role requires both technical depth in data science and experimentation and the executive presence to influence decisions at the highest levels.

What you’ll do

Data science leadership
- Partner with leaders across Consumer Engineering & Product, Ads, Marketing, and Finance to provide clear, actionable insights that guide the company strategy.
- Represent Reddit internally and externally as a thought leader in data science, ML, experimentation, and measurement.
- Drive company level impact through in-depth understanding of Reddit’s ecosystem leveraging all facets of data science.
Build out a world class data science organization.
- Build, lead, and retain a world-class multidisciplinary team spanning data science, ML, data engineering and analytics.
- Develop senior leaders within the organization while scaling a strong bench of technical and scientific talent.
Strengthen our data science foundations.
- Uphold and improve upon data science quality and citizenship
- Advance Reddit’s data science capabilities, ensuring it is trusted and scalable.
- Deepen understanding of Reddit’s complex ecosystems of communities, moderators, contributors and consumers.

Skills and Qualifications

10+ years of experience in data science, economics, or ML engineering, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to define, communicate, and execute a data vision that drives measurable business outcomes.
Deep expertise in data science, causal inference, ML, data engineering, and experimentation.
Strong technical and scientific foundation in data science and analytics engineering, with experience in modern data platforms.
Exceptional influence and communication skills, with the ability to deliver impartial insights to C-level executives

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:

$260,800—$365,100 USD
