The Team You'll Work With
We are seeking a dynamic HR Leader to join our People team and drive meaningful impact across Carta’s global hubs. This leader will partner closely with our AMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East, & Africa) Managing Director, our UK & Europe Managing Director, the broader People leadership team, and will manage a small team of HRBPs to support the unique needs of our international employee base. Operating from our London office and reporting into our US-based VP of HR, you will be the primary People partner for leaders across both regions—guiding organizational growth, enabling local compliance, and helping shape Carta’s international culture.
As our international HR leader for AMEA and Europe, you’ll develop and execute People strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness while navigating the complexity of multiple countries, employment models, and cultural expectations. This role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity, balances strategic initiatives with operational execution, and acts as a trusted advisor to regional executives. Your ability to coach, influence, and problem-solve will make you critical to Carta’s international success.
The Problems You'll Solve
As a Director, HR for our International Hubs, you will be the primary HR partner for leaders across AMEA and Europe. You will balance near-term operational needs with long-term, scalable People strategies that support our distributed workforce. Specifically, you will:
- Support M&A Activity – Partner closely with our Legal, Finance, and Corporate Development teams to support due diligence, assess people-related risks, and provide guidance on employment matters across various markets
- Be a Strategic Business Partner – Advise and support our AMEA and Europe Managing Directors and senior leadership to design and implement People strategies that drive regional performance
- Design & Execute People Strategies – Develop scalable programs tailored to international needs, addressing regional nuances in compliance, labor practices, and organizational structure
- Drive Functional Performance – Partner with leaders to execute key People initiatives including performance management, compensation cycles, benefits, and employee development across multiple geographies
- Enable Organizational Effectiveness – Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, succession planning, organizational design, cross-border hiring, and employee mobility considerations
- Lead People Integration for Acquired Teams – Develop and execute tailored integration plans for acquired employees, ensuring smooth onboarding, alignment to Carta’s culture and processes, and high-quality communication throughout the transition
- Leverage Data – Use insights and analytics to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and improve the health and performance of teams across both regions
- Manage Employee Relations & Compliance – Handle complex ER issues across jurisdictions while partnering closely with Legal to mitigate risk and maintain regional compliance
- Coach & Mentor – Coach managers and leaders at all levels to strengthen leadership capability, decision-making, and cross-cultural effectiveness
- Champion Culture & Change – Foster an engaged, high-performing, globally aligned culture while helping leaders navigate organizational change across diverse markets
The Impact You'll Have
You will be a trusted partner to Carta’s international leadership teams, helping steer the People strategy for our AMEA and Europe hubs. By deeply understanding regional dynamics, cultural perspectives, and business priorities, you’ll drive initiatives that enhance the employee experience, build leadership capability, and support long-term global growth. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution and is instrumental in shaping Carta’s global footprint and international culture.
