Figma

Design Program Manager, Platform

at Figma

CA • New York, NY • United States, San Francisco, United States

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!

As Figma’s product offering and team grows, we are scaling our operations practice to better support designers in delivering complex, cross-team initiatives. This new Design Program Manager (DPM) will be embedded alongside our core design tools product area, partnering closely with design leadership, designers, and XFN stakeholders to coordinate systems and platform initiatives across our full product ecosystem. This is a high-agency, high-trust role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds clarity for others, and creates scalable systems to empower designers to focus on craft. You’ll join a small but mighty DesignOps team at a pivotal moment, helping shape the playbook for how DPMs operate at Figma.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you’ll do at Figma:

  • Ensure cross-product design patterns have clear rhythms in place for collaboration, review, tracking, and leadership approval.
  • Design, pilot, and scale high-leverage frameworks and rituals to facilitate effective cross-team collaboration for designers.
  • Facilitate design sprints, critiques, and reviews to ensure product teams are working in lockstep and prioritizing the right feedback from executives.
  • Manage program risks, communicate progress and dependencies, and provide updates to executives and business partners.
  • Partner with the Director of Design overseeing our core experience for Figma design tools, to align our company vision and priorities to the tactical ground-level work of designers.
  • Partner with the DesignOps manager to scale programs across the org and help with team DesignOps initiatives as needed.
  • Define our playbook for how DPMs operate alongside TPMs and other cross-functional partners.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 5+ years of design program management experience, specifically focused on supporting cross-product and multi-team delivery efforts.
  • Hands-on experience with the Figma product ecosystem and design systems.
  • Experience and passion for experimenting with modern tooling (AI orchestration, API usage, workflow automation tooling) to streamline and simplify design & XFN workflows
  • A deep understanding of how designers work, how to advocate for their needs, and a clear design point-of-view
  • A successful track record of crafting impactful design programs and delivering business-critical design work, at scale
  • The ability to drive focus and clarity in uncertain situations or without complete information

While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

  • Deep technical understanding of how design systems are built and scaled
  • Worked in a startup environment where the leadership team is highly involved in all stages of the product and design process
  • Experience as a designer or design engineer, and expertise in using Figma’s product offering
  • Exceptional visual communication skills and an understanding of design craft
  • A history of influencing senior leaders and executives
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
