The role:

SoFi is looking for a skilled and highly organized Copywriter/Copyeditor hybrid to help drive a large-scale marketing asset update project. This is a contract role through mid-December, with the possibility of extension into Q1 2026.

You'll be an integral part of a dedicated team tasked with making critical compliance refreshes across multiple marketing channels. You’ll also ensure a high volume of marketing assets are updated, approved, and completed on time. The work includes everything from revising marketing copy to making compliance-required disclosure changes. You'll also help create net-new creative assets when needed.

You’ll work as part of our in-house Creative Studio and with stakeholders across marketing, compliance, and channel teams to ensure nothing slips through the cracks. Basically, you’ll need extreme attention to detail.

Types of assets you'll help update:

  • Marketing emails
  • Product website landing pages
  • Paid social and digital ads
  • Space-constrained assets

What you’ll do:

  • Update and refresh assets to ensure they are on brand creatively and up to date with compliance standards.
  • Follow prescriptive guidelines to the “T” in making asset updates. Collaborate closely with the project team to come up with creative solutions for asset changes when required.
  • Edit and proofread your own writing, as well as all content supplied by partners and guest contributors for voice and tone.
  • Work with stakeholders and reviewers to keep the brand voice consistent.
  • Stay in close communication with project management, compliance, creative, and marketing stakeholders.
  • Adhere to requested turnaround time (sometimes tight) for each project.
  • Work closely with copy editing team to ensure all elements, including disclosures, are implemented.

What you’ll need:

  • 3+ years experience with multiple asset types including content, digital, social media, video, and more.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to adjust SoFi's brand voice and tone based on medium and audience.
  • Comfort working with compliance partners and understanding regulated review workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent Q/A instincts.
  • Confident, clear communicator who builds great relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Be a natural problem solver and don't wait for others to give you the answers. You're also not shy about reaching out to necessary parties to get clarity.
  • Collaboration is your middle name—you're a natural at forming strong partnerships.
  • Your editing style is all about adding that "perfect polish" and staying close to brand, copy, and compliance guidelines—it's not about rewriting and giving tons of editorial feedback.
  • Your edits and editing direction are clear and concise, never confusing.
  • You have impeccable time management skills, with an emphasis on meeting tight deadlines.
  • You’re enthusiastic about your work and about joining a close-knit team.
  • You have experience working with legal disclaimers in a heavily regulated environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Fintech or Financial industry is a plus.
  • Ad agency experience is preferred.
  • Post production experience is also preferred.
