About the role
Roku is looking for a Content Strategy & Insights MBA Intern to help shape the content strategy for The Roku Channel (AVOD, FAST), Howdy (SVOD). In this role, you will use Roku’s first-party data and business intelligence tools to answer high-impact questions about what content works where, why, and how we should invest next.
You will work closely with Content Acquisition, Content Partner Management, Originals, Sports, Finance, and Core Analytics teams to own project-based analyses from problem definition through recommendations. Rather than building complex models or writing production code, you will focus on pulling and structuring data from dashboards, analyzing it, and translating your findings into clear stories that inform real content decisions.
This is a full-time summer internship designed for an MBA student who is passionate about content, eager to dive deep into data, and excited to influence how millions of people discover and watch TV.

What you’ll be doing
- Pull and synthesize content performance, audience, and engagement data from Tableau, Looker, and internal dashboards for TRC AVOD, FAST channels, and Howdy in the US and Mexico
- Analyze viewership, engagement, and monetization trends to identify what types of content, formats, and windowing strategies are working across AVOD, FAST, and SVOD
- Build clear, executive-ready narratives that translate complex data into simple, persuasive stories and recommendations
- Partner with Licensed and Original Content teams to scope project-based work, align on hypotheses, and pressure-test your findings

- Strong proficiency in Excel, including comfort with pivot tables, lookups, and building clean, structured analyses that others can follow
- Experience using business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar to pull, filter, and visualize data (no SQL or Python required, though any familiarity is a plus)
- A genuine passion for TV, film, and streaming content, with curiosity about AVOD, FAST, and SVOD business models and how audiences discover and engage with content
- Ability to structure ambiguous problems, frame clear hypotheses, and connect data to business decisions and trade-offs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience building executive-ready PowerPoint decks and concise written summaries of complex analyses
- High attention to detail, strong organization skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative, low-ego working style and comfort operating in a test-and-learn environment where recommendations evolve with new data

The Roku Culture
Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We're independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.
We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
