About the team

The global Content Acquisition team is responsible for sourcing and executing innovative content licensing deals across a range of content types and business models for The Roku Channel (TRC)’s AVOD and FAST live/linear service and Howdy SVOD service across US and international territories.

About the role 

The Content Acquisition Associate will support the Content Acquisition team across the TRC and Howdy content licensing business. The candidate brings a strong passion for and growing expertise in content. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating inbound content submissions, providing deal support in the form of financial analysis, deal modeling and content performance assessment, tracking negotiations and post-deal execution. The candidate must have strong data analysis and quantitative skills with excellent attention to detail.

For California Only and New York - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $117,000 base annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deal Support & Execution
    • Provide second chair support to senior deal leads and director of the team: build and maintain financial models for a variety of content deal types, assist with content review and selections, support negotiations (term sheet/long form) and own post-deal execution tasks.
    • Manage inbound content submissions: review and log in Airtable, route to internal partners and track feedback.
  • Portfolio & Strategy Support
    • Track deal pipeline, licensed windows, deal terms and content deliveries for assigned accounts.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on improving internal processes and tooling (e.g., deal model templates, content reporting dashboards and Rights Manager tool).
  • Partner & Market Support
    • Work with Content Acquisition and cross-functional teams on partner-facing decks, internal strategic projects and competitive market research.
    • Assist with conference scheduling and planning (NATPE, MIPCOM) for the Content Acquisition team.

We’re excited if you have  

  • BA/BS required, with specialization in Media/Communications, Business Administration, Finance a plus. 
  • 3-6+ years of experience at a media/entertainment/tech company. Working knowledge of content licensing structures and deal terms.
  • Ability to support multiple deals and projects simultaneously with guidance.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience building and maintaining financial models.
  • Demonstrated strength in Excel and PowerPoint and familiarity with Airtable and AI tools.
  • Obsessive attention to detail.
  • Self-starter and a strong, effective communicator who can synthesize data into concise recommendations.
  • Eagerness to learn market dynamics, partner strategies and evolving licensing models.
  • Comfort with a quickly changing, fast-paced environment.
