Bellevue, Chicago, Ontario, San Francisco, Toronto, Washington DC, Canada, United States
Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human
Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.
Overview
Okta is looking for a Communications Data and Insights Manager to build and lead the analytics engine that informs and drives our corporate communications strategy. In this role, you will translate data into actionable insights, measure and monitor campaign performance, identify the whitespace, spot trends, and establish clear KPIs that act as the foundation of a modern, data-driven communications organization.
You will serve as the connective tissue between fast-moving data and the strategic choices that shape how Okta shows up in the world, ensuring every narrative decision is informed by evidence and every major moment is measured. The data and insights lead will sit at the intersection of media relations, social strategy, and operations, ensuring the communications organization is grounded in high-quality analytics, trends, and performance intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Always-On Intelligence: Operate a continuous monitoring and analysis program across media, social platforms, and competitive landscapes to surface emerging narratives and reputational signals in real time.
- Competitive Share of Voice & Narrative Analysis: Conduct ongoing measurement of Okta’s share of voice relative to competitors, diagnosing drivers of competitive spikes and providing strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Market Position Analysis: Continuously assess Okta’s position across earned media, social, and analyst coverage, translating ambiguous signals into structured analysis that connects activities to brand perception and business outcomes.
- Revenue & Growth Alignment: Partner with Marketing Operations teams to identify correlations between earned media spikes and "top-of-funnel" indicators, such as organic search volume, branded traffic, and account-level engagement signals.
- Content Performance & Editorial Intelligence: Guide editorial planning by surfacing what resonates and identifying the ‘whitespace’ in the market—untapped topics and story angles—guiding our content strategy toward high-impact narratives that set Okta apart.
- Measurement Support & Campaign Tracking: Partner with cross-functional analytics teams to deliver analysis that demonstrates the impact of communications strategies and reputational goals.
- Reporting, Insights & Key Learnings: Develop dashboards and produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as bespoke analyses for major events and campaigns.
- QBR Cadence & Strategic Rhythm: Support the quarterly and annual operating rhythm for the Communications team by tracking progress against goals and preparing materials for leadership reviews.
- Tools, AI & Operational Support: Leverage and optimize social listening and media monitoring platforms (e.g., Meltwater, MuckRack, Sprout Social, Caliber) to support AI-first workflows that improve speed to insight and team productivity.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
- 8+ years of relevant experience: Proven success in communications analytics, media measurement, PR strategy, or a related field in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
- The Signal Finder: Strong analytical instincts with proven experience in separating signal from noise in high-volume, fast-moving environments and connecting industry trends to the company story.
- The Analyst & Storyteller: Experience benchmarking share of voice and evaluating content performance across earned, social, and owned channels, with the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives for senior leaders.
- Comms Tech Stack Fluency: Hands-on familiarity with tools and workflows across the communications and marketing stack, including Meltwater, MuckRack, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, and Salesforce.
- Operational and Analytical Rigor: Strong attention to data quality and accuracy, with experience using large datasets to guide decisions and deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Cross-Channel Activation Strength: Deep understanding of how to orchestrate and measure coordinated plays across global social and media channels to improve brand sentiment.
- Framework and Process Design: Experience building reporting frameworks and operating models that enable measurement programs to scale effectively across teams and geographies.
Leadership and Influence: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and influence senior partners through data-driven insights.
