Transform your career by becoming the Chief of Staff (CoS) to MongoDB’s Chief Financial Officer, working directly with executives and the leadership team across MongoDB, particularly within the Finance organization. 

This role will support our CFO in driving initiatives and projects that support the company’s growth. The CoS will foster strong relationships with executives to ensure cross functional growth initiatives are implemented successfully and will partner with the executive team to define strategy and decision-making critical to the company's future success. The CoS will serve as a versatile, right-hand to help manage initiatives, demonstrating excellent program management and organizational skills. The CoS will maintain engagement with stakeholders and clearly communicate information and actions from the CFO with appropriate follow-up. The CoS will at times act as a proxy on behalf of the CFO with various stakeholders to maximize performance and output.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prioritization & Focus: Shapes and manages the CFO’s agenda, ensuring the Finance organization’s priorities align with MongoDB’s strategy 
  • Operating Rhythm: Designs and drives the operating cadence for the Finance organization, enabling consistent alignment, accountability, and follow-through on strategic and financial goals.
  • Decision Enablement: Partners with the CFO and Finance leadership team to surface key issues, frame decisions, and acts as an advisor and thought partner.
  • Strategic Execution: Oversees high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that advance the CFO’s vision and accelerate organizational performance.
  • Communication & Alignment: Connects across Finance and with key stakeholders across the business to ensure clarity of priorities, transparency of progress, and effective communication of outcomes.
  • Ability to Collaborate and Influence: Build collaborative relationships with leadership across the business and their teams (EStaff and their Chiefs of Staff) and manage through influence to deliver against the priorities 
  • Program Management: Coordinate and monitor strategic initiatives while serving as the main point of contact for the Finance organization to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience with a foundation in management consulting  
  • 3+ years of tech (ideally software) industry experience preferred
  • Analytical and critical thinker who is adept at complex analysis and inspection
  • Strong ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner at an executive level in presentations and written memos
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details
  • Shows versatility and adaptability to handle a highly-diverse workload and manages simultaneous activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and ability to manage multiple complex projects in parallel
  • Highly trustworthy; exercises discretion
  • Flexible schedule; available for international/domestic travel, occasionally on short notice
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • Ideal candidate will be based in Austin, TX

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

$129,000$253,000 USD
