Job Summary

The Business Development Managers form the core of our Business Development team, and interact daily with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers at our partner hospitals and clinics to educate them on our services and encourage them to refer their infusion therapy patients to us.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Market Expansion & Referral Development
  • Identify and engage net new IVIG referring providers, including specialists in neurology, immunology, and oncology.
  • Expand existing IVIG accounts and develop new ones in designated territories.
  • Maintain a consistent IVIG-focused presence in provider conversations to drive awareness and referrals.

 

  • Sales Strategy & Execution
    • Implement refined selling motions tailored to IVIG therapies, including therapy-agnostic order forms and product-specific initiatives (e.g., Gamunex-C).
    • Collaborate with ASM and Growth leadership to align on territory goals, sales targets, and performance metrics.
    • Participate in retraining programs focused on IG sales approaches and reimbursement strategies.

 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Prior Authorization (PA) and Intake teams to deploy preferred product matrices and streamline onboarding.
    • Coordinate with Clinical and Operations teams to ensure patient onboarding and provider support.
    • Support market level collaboration with pharma partners (e.g., Octapharma, Takeda).

 

  • Data & Reporting
    • Utilize CRM systems (e.g., Sugar) to track referral activity, account status, and sales performance.
    • Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and therapy adoption to inform strategic decisions.

 

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong working knowledge of managed care plans, insurance carriers, referrals, and precertification procedures, as well as documentation guidelines
  • Interest or experience in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry desired
  • Strong customer service, organizational and communication skills
  • Competitive spirit, with customer-focused attitude
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external employees at all levels
  • Proficiency with standard office software applications (Outlook, Microsoft Office, Teams®)

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Experience working directly with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff members
  • Knowledge or experience in the home health, hospice, DME or imaging sales
  • Proven experience in specialty pharmaceutical sales, preferably in IVIG or related infusion therapies.
  • Strong understanding of the IG market, including Part B and Part D dynamics, reimbursement models, and provider behaviors.
  • Demonstrated success in opening new accounts and driving therapy-specific growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and data-driven sales reporting.

 

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. An applicant may also be eligible to participate in certain incentive compensation programs based on achieving certain performance targets set forth each year and subject to the incentive compensation plan’s terms and conditions. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.

Salary Range for this role:
$100,000$118,750 USD
