About the role
In the role of Business Development Director, Europe, you will report to the VP Business Development, EMEA.
We are considering applicants for the location of Paddington, London.
As the Business Development Director, you will be crucial in driving our growth by helping identify and execute strategic partnerships and distribution opportunities for our SVOD service within Europe. You will cultivate relationships with key industry players across the territory, negotiating complex agreements and expanding our distribution channels. Additionally, you will identify and assess new distribution partnerships and opportunities, work with cross-functional teams, and stay informed of emerging trends, business models, and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategies for Crunchyroll's partnerships with distributor platforms to maximize audience reach.
- Negotiate and close new distribution agreements for Crunchyroll's products: working in concert with senior cross-functional leaders, including Legal, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Distribution, and Content teams.
- Lead early partnership development, including business case, value exchange, product requirements, financial modeling, etc.
- Lead regular meetings with partners to track progress & provide updates.
- Liaise with Distribution counterparts on International and Domestic teams to share best practices and support global and regional partnerships.
- There is an expectation of travel across the territory as needed.
About You

- 12+ years of Business Development experience with media or technology companies.
- Deep understanding of and experience working in the streaming / SVOD / distributionlandscape from a business perspective.
- Excellent communication, presentation and deal negotiation skills.
- Ability to gain consensus and gather support internally and externally.
- First-rate analytical & quantitative skills, with a demonstrated ability to use data to drivebusiness decisions.
- Skill to work independently, managing multiple stakeholders across geographies and time zones, including the US (West Coast).
- Capacity to be curious, self-motivated, adaptable and drive projects from discovery through delivery.
