Lyft

AI Business Solution Architect

at Lyft

Toronto, Canada

At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive.

The divide between business needs and technical delivery is one of the most persistent challenges in enterprise technology, where finance teams struggle to articulate requirements and engineering teams lack the business context to build truly impactful solutions. As a Senior Business Solution Architect for Finance at Lyft, you'll eliminate this gap by serving as the critical connection point between our Finance teams and our Corporate Engineering and IT (CEIT) organization. This role uniquely combines deep functional business expertise with strong technical acumen, enabling you to translate complex business needs into systemized, scalable solutions while driving AI-enabled transformation across the Finance function.

We're seeking a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of business and technology, possesses exceptional communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences, and is dedicated to architecting the future state of how Finance operates. You'll be the trusted advisor to both business leaders and engineering teams, ensuring our Finance organization has systems and processes that scale with our business while our engineering teams build solutions that truly move the needle. With AI fundamentally reshaping how Finance work gets done, your expertise will be critical in helping us responsibly harness these technologies to drive operational excellence. In this role, you'll reimagine Finance workflows through an AI-first lens, design business processes that balance operational excellence with technical feasibility, and champion automation that elevates teams from tactical execution to strategic impact.

If you are a candidate who has the vision of what could be, who has the ability to cultivate relationships, and has a belief in driving impact, then you may be the ideal person for this position. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect Finance Solutions and Bridge Business-Technology Collaboration
    • Serve as the primary liaison between Finance stakeholders and engineering teams, translating business needs into clear technical requirements and validating that delivered solutions meet business objectives
    • Maintain deep expertise in both Finance domain knowledge (Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Procurement, Compliance) and the technical systems that support it (Oracle Financials, Anaplan, GTreasury, and various boundary applications), enabling effective communication across both audiences
    • Define the strategic roadmap for Finance systems, platforms, and data architecture in alignment with business strategy and technology capabilities
    • Design and document business processes that streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and improve operational efficiency while ensuring technical feasibility
    • Develop comprehensive business requirements documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria that enable engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Drive AI-Enabled Transformation Across Finance
    • Partner with Finance leaders to reimagine processes through an AI-first lens, prototyping solutions that demonstrate art-of-the-possible and building conviction for change
    • Identify high-impact opportunities to apply AI and automation across Finance workflows, from invoice processing and reconciliation to forecasting and anomaly detection, pushing teams up the value chain by eliminating mundane, repetitive work
    • Establish frameworks for responsible AI adoption within Finance, ensuring solutions align with compliance, data privacy, security guidelines, and ethical considerations
    • Stay current on emerging AI capabilities and tools, continuously researching how new models and platforms can be applied to Finance use cases
  • Enable Strategic Decision-Making and Platform Optimization
    • Develop business cases that quantify ROI for technology investments, translating technical capabilities into tangible business value metrics

  • Demonstrated success leading business process transformation initiatives in Finance that delivered measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy, or user experience
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from explaining technical concepts to CFO and Finance executives to providing detailed specifications to engineers
  • Experience with AI/automation in business contexts, including familiarity with LLMs, intelligent automation tools, or AI-powered workflow solutions
