ISPM Techops SRE Team Lead

Note: this role is onsite, presence 4 times per week in our Tel Aviv office.

What you’ll be doing

As a team lead at Spera in our Techops team, you will be critical in building the team and responsible for the infrastructure. Your expertise and contributions will directly impact the success and effectiveness of our product. 

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, building, running, and monitoring Okta's production infrastructure
  • Raise the bar on engineering excellence by introducing methodologies, producing best-in-class code, documentation, testing, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with product and R&D engineers to translate product requirements into technical solutions
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues and performance bottlenecks
  • Staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our products
  • Responsible for the production environment private networks
  • Be an evangelist for security best practices and also lead initiatives/projects to strengthen our security posture for critical infrastructure
  • Responding to production incidents and determining how we can prevent them in the future
  • Promoting and applying best practices for building scalable and reliable services across engineering
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and procedures
  • Be a mentor for your team and help promote knowledge-sharing

What you’ll bring to the role

 

  • 8+ years of experience as a site reliability or platform engineer, preferably in a fast-scaling environment
  • 4+ years of experience as a technical leader
  • Proven hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production
  • Experience with the deployment of production workloads on public cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP)
  • Strong experience in configuration management using IaaS tools such as Terraform and Helm
  • Strong experience in security practices and network engineering in AWS
  • Proficiency in ETL processes, showcasing the ability to handle data pipelines efficiently and securely
  • Experience managing CI/CD infrastructures, with a strong proficiency in platforms like GitHub Actions to streamline deployment pipelines and ensure efficient software delivery
  • Knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk, as well as their implementation
  • Strong proficiency in Python for backend systems, demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient software components essential for the reliability and performance of the infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively within a team.
  • Are passionate about encouraging the development of engineering peers and leading by example.

Extra credit if you have experience in any of the following

  • Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
  • Experience with Snowflake or other data warehousing platforms
