About the team

The Roku Smart Home product team is part of the Devices organization at Roku which is responsible for products and partnerships that lead to continued account acquisition. We are looking to simplify smart home and replicate our success with OTT streaming in this growth area. Our business is fast paced, requiring the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision in an ever-changing environment. The right mix of organizational and communication skills will be the key to success. Attention to detail and a proven ability to manage priorities are also essential.


About the role 

As a Senior Product Manager of Experience in the Roku Smart Home team, you will define features and services for new products and experiences on all surfaces, primarily in Roku Smart Home mobile apps and on Roku TV. You will develop and present strategy, product roadmap, and lead execution of the roadmap. You will work closely with design, engineering, data science/analytics and business teams to bring core features to life. You will bring clarity of thought and ensure that resources and teams are always working on the most important, high impact areas. We are highly data driven and make decisions based on experimentation and data. You will be quick at interpreting results from experiments and make decisions on future iterations. We recognize that it is equally important to have strong product intuition that informs decision making. We are looking for product leaders that demonstrate strong user empathy and product instincts. What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and provide creative, thoughtful solutions for experiences in Roku Smart Home apps, on Roku TV and voice interface.
  • Know the customer and relentlessly advocate in their best interest.
  • Deliver thoughtful and well-designed product experiences on a timely pace
  • Drive the product and business-planning process across cross-functional teams of the company.
  • Track program risks, help drive mitigations, and represent status to the broader leadership team.
  • Be tenacious. Do whatever it takes to keep your team moving.

We’re Excited If You Have

  • 5+ years of experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle for mobile apps for both iOS and Android.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods to understand consumer behavior, and using large scale A/B testing to iterate over products and features
  • Experience working closely with engineering and design teams as the product owner in an agile environment.
  • Comfort in working with ambiguity and limited information in an evolving and dynamic environment
  • Experience of going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch execution.
  • Excitement about things you don’t know. You ask lots of questions and go searching for answers. Geeking out is part of what makes it fun to come to work.
  • Excellent at communication, facilitation, presentation, interpersonal, analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong, influential cross-functional team leader
  • Experience with connected devices and smart home products (preferred)
  • Experience with products that combine hardware and software (preferred)
  • BS or equivalent. MS/MBA preferred.
