Stripe’s Sales Compensation Team has an opening for a role that will be responsible for the
compensation calculation and payment process for the sales organization. Working as a team
of three, this role will play a critical role in ensuring the sales team is correctly paid on schedule.
This will include the following steps: processing data, validating calculations, communicating
compensation and handling clarification requests. This role will require patience for handling
sensitive compensation issues with stakeholders.
Responsibilities

Deliver accurate and on-time payments to roles with variable sales compensation

Own and conduct regular audits of incentive compensation management (ICM) tool
including: personnel set up, plan management, processed data, and commissions
calculations.
Propose, evaluate, and drive continuous improvements on the commissions processes
to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Be a first responder to compensation inquiries and support escalation when needed.
Provide training and support to sales teams regarding the incentive compensation plans
and related commissions processes.
Mentor, and train sales compensation analysts
Have an in-depth understanding of the sales function, product priorities, and individual
sales team characteristics.

Minimum requirements

BS or BA in Business, Finance, Economics, Math, or Statisti cs.
4+ years of experience in a sales compensation payment role.
Experience with CRM (e.g. Salesforce) and ICM (e.g. Captivate IQ, Varicent, Xactly)
tools.
Proven ability to handle the complexities of an end-to-end commissions close, including
managing towards accounting and payroll deadlines.
A track record of strong SOX-compliant business-process design, enhancement, and
maintenance.
Experience with reporting tools, SQL query optimization, and Tableau
Very organized and attentive to detail, with excellent prioritization skills that allow you to
consistently deliver quality results on time.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey
information effectively and empathetically to executives and cross-functional teams at
the appropriate cadence.
Ability to address questions and concerns quickly and patiently.
Preferred qualifications
Experience in Sales or Sales Operations roles.
Proficient in SQL.
In-office expectations
Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50%
of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary
depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site
have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City,
Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater
in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the
hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people
together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility
when possible.
