About the Team
Our global Finance and Strategy team (F&S) are strategic business partners to Stripe’s leaders, providing clear insights which simplify the complexity of the business, and drive the key operating forums to enable effective decision-making.
F&S is expanding to support the needs of our growing business, and this role is an exciting opportunity to start-up and lead a new Finance & Strategy team in Bangalore. This team is chartered to deliver thoughtful analysis to inform key business decisions, through simplification and automation of key financial planning processes. If you are an experienced Finance professional with a background in FP&A who is passionate about building and scaling new processes and developing high-performing teams, please read below.
Responsibilities
- Staff and scale new Bangalore Finance (FP&A, F&S) team by stabilizing, documenting and transitioning work in collaboration with partner teams in F&S
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to scale F&S processes in Bangalore
- Provide thought leadership and hands-on involvement in FP&A deliverables to sharpen insights, speed delivery, improve partner engagement and develop team members
- Report on and speak to financial processes and analyses to senior management; provide actionable and insightful recommendations, and partner with F&S colleagues on follow ups as needed
- Continuously review and enhance processes, methodologies and tools to ensure any team member engaging in any process will deliver consistent high-quality outputs, with an emphasis on scale and speed to take on additional challenges
- Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in F&S and across the organization
- Recruit, develop, and retain Finance talent to support a dynamic book of work
- Support execution of complex cross-functional F&S initiatives across Stripe that impact financial systems (e.g. Anaplan, Financial Data Warehouse), metrics, financial planning
Who You Are

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields required
- 15+ years of varied Finance experience with emphasis on FP&A experience (e.g. budget, close, forecast reviews, Annual Planning)
- Experience working in global multinational firm(s) (e.g. tech, banking, fintech) partnering with stakeholders across multiple timezones
- Prior experience recruiting, building and scaling teams of up to 20 people
- Solution-oriented mindset with proven ability to work collaboratively to standardize and automate cross-functional processes (e.g. data management, reporting)
- Strong communication and organizational skills including conflict resolution, team management, and presentations
- The ability to maintain high performance under tight timelines and a “roll up your sleeves” mindset to get any job done
- The ability to bring structure to ambiguous areas of opportunity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze problems and data sets to make complex investigation decisions
- Strong knowledge of financial planning systems (e.g. Anaplan), working with/analyzing large datasets and contracts (e.g. SQL) and office tools such as GSuite
- Independently analyze and evaluate information from various data sources to determine a course of action for a matched case
- Self-disciplined, diligent, proactive and detail oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA, CA degree is desirable
- Experience with process improvement, workflow, and automation is desirable
Examples of Projects
Example projects from candidates may include:
- Developing an understanding of the underlying business models and supporting business analysis (e.g. evaluating a potential investment) and strategic planning
- Executing and improving close, reconciliation, forecast, planning processes in any way
- Developing system requirements, automations, workflows, and/or reporting solutions (e.g. dashboards) to enhance Finance processes
- Development of models and/or automations
- Process and controls improvements, process documentation, standard work, and/or training programs to establish common ways of working
- Developing and rolling out changes to Finance metrics, assessing impacts to existing reporting and data assets, troubleshooting inaccuracies or synchronization issues
- Building finance models to inform decision making (e.g. pricing, profitability) and iterating on them based on feedback and improvement opportunities
- Partnering with Technical teams to create data layers / data libraries etc. to establish ‘source of truth’ for Finance reporting
