About the team + role
As the compute team at Robinhood, we design and develop a scaleable and secure compute foundation for Robinhood! We are a growing foundational team at the bedrock of Robinhood engineering.
The Compute team owns and provides a fully managed, standardized and scaleable compute infrastructure. This includes the lifecycle management of all systems and artifacts; Clusters, nodes and configurations that drive all our infrastructure components. We work under a unifying vision to bring the management of these systems under a similar set of coordinated processes. The technologies we influence include the EC2, Kubernetes clusters, general scalability, and security for Robinhood Infrastructure all while keeping reliability and cost efficiencies in mind.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a highly ambitious engineering team and take our compute infrastructure to the new heights!

What you’ll do
- Lead the team’s execution including implementing appropriate processes, establishing a high standard of performance, managing risks and resource allocation
- Lead architecture design sessions in tandem with your technical lead, to facilitate your team to design large scale systems making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability.
- Champion and guide the team to keep a focus on software engineering craftsmanship; testing, static analysis, continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
- Manage, grow and develop a team of inspired and hardworking engineers who have high expectations of themselves and their teammates to chip in to ensuring Robinhood's success
- Work with cross-functional business partners within product, analytics, and engineering leaders to collaborate, plan, and execute on a roadmap for the Compute Infrastructure Management (CIM) team, the rest of the Software Platform engineering team and with the larger infrastructure organization.
What you bring
- Proven understanding of compute and infrastructure, with a focus on EC2, Kubernetes, scalability, security, and reliability of those systems.
- You have built and developed an impactful team of passionate engineers within a high scale focused environment.
- Exposure leading large impact infrastructure initiatives, delivering exceptional software and delighting your users.
- Passion in mentoring junior engineers and improving the engineering craftsmanship!

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
