About this role 

As a key member of Udemy’s newly-established local team in China, you will lead course acquisition and operations, collaborating closely with local instructors and partners. Your primary objective will be to drive the growth of high-quality Chinese course content for both individual and enterprise users, thereby expanding the supply of courses to meet business demands.

We seek a highly motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a significant, high-priority project. This role offers the opportunity to spearhead international expansion for a global education company. The ideal candidate is analytical, a proficient communicator, and adept at executing initiatives with resourcefulness.

What you'll be doing

  • Educate local instructors on Udemy’s guidelines, available resources, and course creation processes.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese market requirements, cultural nuances, and competitive landscape.
  • Formulate strategies for content initiatives in China, determining priority areas and optimal channels for course acquisition and instructor marketing, aligned with team objectives.
  • Conceptualize and implement new initiatives tailored to meet market demands and achieve content goals.
  • Oversee content operations, including instructor partnerships and courses.
  • Maintain a pipeline of new courses and ensure accuracy of content-related metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with local partners, managing all aspects of content strategy and execution, and serve as a liaison between local partners and Udemy
  • Ensure data hygiene in Salesforce (SFDC) and utilize tools like Google Docs and Slack effectively.

What you’ll have 

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, project management, program management, marketing, or business development. Familiarity with tech content is advantageous.
  • Native fluency in Chinese, coupled with a deep understanding of the Chinese business culture.  You will also have fluency in English.
  • Understanding of the Chinese education and training market.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing and optimizing program management.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Be willing to travel and flexibly accommodate meetings and collaboration with teams in North America and Asia, irrespective of time zone differences.
